Her passion is in helping others and serving her community. At UCLA, she was part of the Bruin Belles Service Association, a group dedicated to philanthropy and women’s leadership. After college, Laura served as an AmeriCorps member and helped nonprofits in Walnut Creek, Oakland, and Antioch. After getting a Masters from Georgetown University, she has worked at nonprofits. She currently works at the Sierra Club, where she helps grassroots activists and campaigns develop digital tools to increase their effectiveness. Laura is an expert in digital accessibility and frequently speaks on the topic. She supports a universal design approach to both digital and physical properties.

Outside of politics and community service, sings with the Diablo Vista Chorus, the city’s Sweet Adelines International award-winning chorus.
